Corneal Transplant Surgery

A cornea transplant (keratoplasty) can bring back vision, lessen pain, and possibly improve the appearance of your white and scarred cornea.
A corneal transplant corrects several eye problems, including: Cornea scarring because of an injury or an infection; Corneal ulcers or “sores” from an infection; Keratoconus, a medical condition that makes your cornea bulge out; Thinning, clouding, or swelling of the cornea; Inherited eye diseases, such as Fuchs’ dystrophy and other problems caused by an earlier eye operation.

Multifocal and Toric Intraocular lenses for Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery patients have the option of choosing traditional intraocular lens implants or premium implants.
– Traditional monofocal IOLs correct vision only at a distance, resulting in dependence on glasses, contact lenses or refractive surgery to meet all of the patient’s visual needs.
– Multifocal IOLs are premium implants that provide both distance and near focus at the same time.
– Toric IOLs are premium implants that can help reduce their astigmatism and thus their dependence on glasses.

Cataract Surgery

Traditional cataract surgery is one of the most common surgeries in the world. It is recognized as being safe and effective. If your vision gets cloudy because you have a cataract, we replace the lens inside your eye that has become cloudy with an artificial lens (called an intraocular lens, or IOL) to restore clear vision.

Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery

You may qualify for laser-assisted cataract surgery if you have astigmatism and you want it corrected during cataract surgery. The laser may be useful when correcting for astigmatism, aligning an astigmatism-correcting intraocular lens, or softening a dense cataract.

Refractive Surgery

Refractive surgery might be a good option for you if you want to decrease your dependence on glasses or contact lenses.  You must be free of eye disease, accept the inherent risks and potential side effects of the procedure, understand that you could still need glasses or contacts after the procedure to achieve your best vision, and have an appropriate refractive error.

Glaucoma Diagnosis and Treatment

Glaucoma is treated by lowering your eye pressure (intraocular pressure). The damage caused by glaucoma can’t be reversed. Treatment and regular checkups can help slow or prevent vision loss, especially if you catch the disease in its early stages.

Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) Treatment

When the Meibomian glands are blocked or the glands have been compromised, the eye surface becomes exposed and can lead to dry eye symptoms. We have proven treatment plans that can address this problem.

Laser Vision Correction

Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) In this procedure, there is no cutting of the cornea.  This results in a stronger cornea postoperatively and possibly reduces the risk of dry eye.  We treat the cornea with an excimer laser that safely and accurately delivers the precise number of laser pulses to achieve the desired corneal flattening. The entire treatment of both eyes is usually completed within 10 minutes. The cornea heals over the next 3-6 days with the help of drops and a bandage contact lens.

Dry Eye Specialist

In addition to environmental factors that contribute to Chronic Dry Eye symptoms, there are various diseases, medications or medical procedures that can cause Dry Eye symptoms. We can help evaluate your Dry  Eyes.

General Ophthalmology Care

Comprehensive diagnostic services provided include evaluation of visual acuity, refraction, slit lamp evaluation, ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, pachymetry, gonioscopy, fundus photography, and visual field testing using state-of-the-art technology.

Glasses Prescriptions

A glasses prescription can be provided at the end of your visit if necessary.  Unfortunately most insurances do not cover the cost of this refraction.  Please ask our staff if you have any questions about your specific plan.

Optos Retinal Imaging

Early signs of disease can be present in the periphery of your retina and remain undetected for a long time when using traditional methods. The Optos optomap ultra-widefield retinal image is a unique technology that captures more than 80% of your retina in a single image while traditional imaging methods typically only show 15% of your retina at one time.
